Amazing Baby Race

The Amazing Baby Race is a competition to see who can produce the next grandchild for Ma and Pa's legacy. Previously born grandchildren are not eligible for the competition. The winning couple of the competition will be treated to a nice dinner by BG himself.

Earlier today Lexie was having trouble locating Pumpkin. She began to search around the house a little before finding her outside on the front porch. Usually this would be normal behavior for Pumpkin as she loves to sit on the porch and people watch in the neighborhood. Pumpkin doesn't like the cold very much though. She usually makes very quick trips in out of the house if it is cold outside. So for her to be sitting out on the porch in the cold just seemed a little off. Lexie began to investigate the situation and as she got closer Pumpkin became guarded which typically indicates she has buried something nearby and is prepared to defend it. Lexie continued looking and eventually found the prize. Pumpkin has been stealing all of the Christmas treats which neighbors have dropped off at the front door during the day. She had accumulated an entire stockpile of goodies for herself and hid them behind the cushions of the chairs on the porch.

At least this time she will be mad at mom for taking away her stolen items. It took her 4 days to get over dad taking away the case of dog treats she had stolen and hidden under his desk a couple weeks ago.

We have noticed a new trend with Pumpkin over the last month or so. Before if you asked Pumpkin if she wanted to go to bed she was all about it and couldn't get there fast enough. Now Pumpkin refuses to come to bed with us until we turn Simpsons on. If we are watching a different show in bed she will go outside or out on the couch until she hears Simpsons come on. She is a weird dog.

New job

I got a new job! Sort of. I'm very excited. I have been the textile conservator 50% of the time, and a registrar the other half of the time. This position is a full time conservation position. I will be the Objects Conservator at the Church History Museum. I will still work with the textiles, but I will also work with all of the other types of artifacts we have too. This job focusing on the preservation of the museum collection, as well as advocating for the proper preservation practices to be used throughout the department. I will monitor the museum environment (light, humidity, temperature), make exhibit and storage mounts to protect the artifacts, and repair any damage that occurs. It's a lateral move so my pay and hours will stay the same. My office will move from the ground floor to the third floor. The current conservator's last day (he's retiring) is September 30. In the weeks in between now and then, I will wrap up my registration work and train with the conservator so I will be ready to take over when he leaves. Thank you for all of your support. Steve and I are really blessed to have such a great family.

New Jokes/Quotes Shown First

I slight change has been made to how the the "Joke/Quote of the Day" is selected each day.

Before a Joke/Quote was just randomly selected each day with no other criteria.

Now a simple check will be made to determine if there are any Jokes/Quotes that have not been shown before. If there are unseen Jokes/Quotes available. One of those will randomly be selected. If there are not any unseen Jokes/Quotes then a random one will be selected as usual.

This will help to make sure that all of the new Jokes/Quotes get shown on the site and will encourage people to add new ones because they know it will be shown shortly.

RSS Section Added To The Site

I have built a new RSS Feed section for the site. It is still new and I will continue to work on it. I put it up so people could enjoy it and have an easy place to keep track of all their RSS Feeds. Feel free to add your favorites to the site so others can enjoy them too.

For those of you unfamiliar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically what it does is go to your favorite websites and grab the latest content. Then you can display it all in one spot to make it easy to find the new stuff you want to go look at.

A nerd was walking on campus one day when his friend, another nerd, rode up on an incredible shiny new bicycle.

The first nerd was stunned and asked, "Where did you get such a nice bike?"

The second nerd replied, "Well, yesterday I was walking home minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up to me on this bike.
